in the hospital where i work, most cases are cancer...some patients are younger than me...it's sad but they also serve as inspiration to live life to the fullest...
Cancer can be pretty devastating. The worst is when it strikes people who have lead clean and healthy lives (we were very surprised when my mother was diagnosed, but she had not been well for years - she had a chronic B12 deficiency all her life and required regular injections, later her immune system started failing, statring with Hashimoto's Disease, then extreme intolerance to many foods and finally non-Hodgkins. She seemed to respond well to the chemo, but it was not enough. Her first treatment was unsuccessful, her second treatment was more aggressive, first harvesting stem cells, then destroying her marrow and finally reintroducing the stem cells. It failed completely. She was only givena few weeks to live afterwards, but managed to survive another 6 months. Her decline and death was rapid - about 3 weeks.
Thanks. Yeah, cancer can be pretty devastating - especially when it is unexpected. However, we thought she would pull through because she always lead a clean and healthy life.
While the course of the disease and the treatment were difficult for her, fortunately, she did not suffer much. Even in her last days, she was in no pain (whic hthe doctors and nurses found amazing) - despite the fact she was hemmoraging internally. She died at home, in bed.
On the other hand, it is not as though she suddenly died. It was 2 years from diagnosis till death.
The best thing is I had a good life with my mom, there are no regrets, no unsaid things. The only thing is that it would be nice to have had her around a bit longer.
Yes, there is advertising. The web hosting costs $5.95 per month and the domain name $10.45 per year (plus applicable taxes). Hopefully, the ads will, over the course of a year, pay for the cost of the website.

So sorry about your loss, but most important is you had a good life with her.
