This was a souvenir I saw in a Katowice Airport souvenir stand. The rays rather make Pope John Paul II look as though he is sporting spiked hair.

Sorry about the reflections, but the souvenir was in a clear plastic bag behind a glass window – making it hard to get perfect lighting.

so those are just rays rather than spikes? good thing because i would think that whoever made that souvenir hated the pope :)

Yeah, it's just rays. The actual souvenir is very small, maybe 5 cm tall - much smaller than it appears in teh image above (which is a crop of the centre).
