While taking Jason to his basketball game, we took the light rail train and went past a fairly interesting building – there is a big chunk in the middle that is missing.

it is an interesting building. i don't know anything about architecture/engineering but I'd say that this building is unique and i wonder how the top floor be able to stand :)

I am sure it is built like most bridges - with sufficient structural strength to uphold the centre.

A neat looking building to be sure.

What ever happened to beautiful architecture? It seems like, these days, it's just meant to be incredibly efficient, or meant to confuse people, as if being unconventional is a good thing all in itself.

We're not even allowed to know where the front door is on a lot of buildings, whereas it used to be the focal point.

Yeah, yeah, I know -- beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Except it's not.

Maybe the picture doesn't do it justice (I was somewhat limited in what angle I could photograph it from since I was onside the light rail train). As well, I think resizing it smaller and applying fairly extensive JPEG compression takes away a great dela of the crispness in its lines).

I thought it was quite impressive. It reminded me of a structure built out of Lego. Maybe I should put up some more pictures (still of limited POV, but they would give it a bit more context).

Great design. But if there's an earthquake? Can it handle the shock?

Wow, that is really amazing!
I wonder why the owner of that building agree with that design, anyway it is very unique and can really catch attention.
Aside from that, it could be one of the attraction in their city.
