Don't like the taste of milk? Looking for some way to make it taste better and make it healthier? Why not try a smoothie?
The basics for a smoothie are milk, bananas and some fruit. The bananas help to thicken it up. The fruit helps to sweeten it.
2 cups of milk 1 banana 1 cup of fruit (mangoes, pineapple, strawberries, peaches, etc. Fresh or frozen.) 1 tsp Vanilla (optional)
Place the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
You can add blueberries, but they will thicken the smoothie. Try it. Add a cup of blueberries, blend and let stand 10 minutes. It will have the consistency of yoghurt. Not too worry! Just stir and it will liquefy again. Apparently, blueberries contain a lot of soluble fibre - most of that in the form of pectin. Under acidic conditions (say the vitamin C from the mangoes or pineapple) pectin gels. You can use milk substitutes as well. I happen to be partial to rice drinks (liek Rice Dream) - buy the fortified ones. They are a little bit chalky tasting at first, but they have the advantage (at least for me) of not leaving me with curdled milk breath (I also snore more if I consume dairy before going to bed. sigh. No more warm glasses of milk with honey before bed.

I haven't tried banana only smoothies. Maybe with vanilla icecream it would be good.
